In the middle of the Dithmarscher Land, in the true north of Germany, is our former country house "Achtern Diek" directly on the North Sea coast and the UNESCO World Heritage Wadden Sea. On the edge of the Dithmarscher Speicherkooge with its huge bird sanctuary and the excellent water sports opportunities for kiters and surfers, a recreation area for everyone has emerged from an agricultural seat on 1.2 hectares of land. Here we offer rest and relaxation in quiet nature not far from the North Sea beaches.

The seal station Friedrichskoog is a very popular destination in our area. Click on the picture and you will be taken straight to the station's website with all the opening hours and information about animal welfare for this species.
A mudflat hike in the UNESCO World Heritage Wadden Sea is always an experience. It's twice as much fun on guided hikes, and you learn a lot about the nature of the North Sea.
The Kiel Canal is one of the busiest passages and the shortest connection between the Baltic Sea and the North Sea for ships of all kinds. There are many places along the canal where you can have a wonderful rest and watch the giants pass by.
